Pricing

Miracle of Nurture charges a per-visit flat fee for lactation consultation, based on the type of appointment. We accept payment by cash, debit or credit card, or personal check. Prices are determined using a sliding scale method.

Sliding Rate Scale

Our sliding scale fee structure is designed to allow more people to access necessary care and services. In order for the system to function effectively, everyone is responsible for determining their own place on the scale based on several different factors. We request that you also consider the investment we have made in our training and continuing education in order to provide holistic lactation care, as well as the emotional and financial value to you of having expert support for your breastfeeding relationship.

We are pleased to be able to offer our sliding scale rates to those clients who need them. This is made possible in part because we work with lactation student interns. For more information about this care model, please read about our care philosophy here.

We ask you to take a look at your resources, but please don’t stress about it. Pay what feels right to you.

Standard Fee

Consider paying our standard flat fee if you:

  • Own the home you live in
  • Have investments, retirement savings, or inheritance
  • Have medical insurance that covers the majority of your birth-related expenses
  • Work part-time or stay at home with your children by choice
  • Have family resources available to you in times of need
  • Have an educational background that affords you a higher earning power, even if you are not currently working

Reduced Fee Range

Consider paying a reduced fee if you:

  • Have medical expenses not covered by insurance
  • Have significant debt
  • Receive public assistance (SNAP, WIC, OHP, etc.)
  • Are a student
  • Are un/under-employed or have been recently laid-off
  • Provide care or financial support for your parent(s) or other dependent

Please feel free to contact us about your own specific situation if you have questions about how this scale might apply to you, or you'd like a quote for an hourly rate rather than a flat fee structure.
